Audi R8 undergoes facelift
The Audi R8 has undergone a facelift with a redesigned bumper, unique LED headlights, a new R8 logo, restyled rear diffuser and a new rounded single exhaust. Another significant revision is a new seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission.
A new V10 Plus model will join the R8 line-up, engine variants include the previous model's entry-level 424bhp 4.2-litre V8 and 5.2-litre V10 with 518bhp, but Audi have dropped the current model's six-speed automated manual R-tronic ‘box and replaced it with the new seven speeder. The V10 Plus will be offered as a coupe only it is lighter with featherweight alloys and lightweight bucket seats inside. The car is capable of 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds and achieves a top speed of 197mph. The V10 Plus is different styling wise boasting a carbonfibre front splitter, mirror housings and air vents plus a bigger than standard rear diffuser and exhaust pipes painted black.
UK pricing is yet to be announced, but the Germans are paying €113,500 (£88,300) for the V8 coupe, €154,600 (£120300) for the V10 and €173,200 (£134,800) for the V10 Plus.
