Book a test drive and win a Mazda MX-5
Win a Mazda sportscar for the summer
Mazda is offering every driver in the UK the chance to win a Mazda MX-5 for four summer months in a new ‘fun in the sun’ free competition. To take your chance all you have to do is book a Mazda MX-5 test drive and your name will be entered into a free prize draw. The closing date for entries in the ‘Win a Mazda MX-5 for the summer’ competition will be 31 May so the clock is ticking.
To promote the ‘fun-in-the-sun’ competition, Mazda is working with players from Great Britain Ultimate (the UK’s top frisbee team), Justin Foord and Dominic Clark, to create a viral film, which shows two Mazda MX-5s playing a game of extreme frisbee. In the game, seven-time British Motorsport Champion and multiple Guinness World Record holder, Paul Swift, drives the MX-5 while the frisbee player throws the frisbee from the car, meanwhile the other player catches the frisbee in the other MX-5 driven by stunt driver, Gordon Clendinning. There will also be a Mazda MX-5 Venture Edition appearing in various parks in London and on the Brighton seafront, ‘sunbathing’ on a giant car-sized beach towel bearing the message ‘Win a Mazda MX-5 for the summer’ over the bank holiday weekend.
The Mazda MX-5 underwent some upgrades late last year. The upgraded version has enhanced safety features and refined driving attributes, together with exterior and interior improvements to make it even more attractive. A new aggressive front bumper design improves the aerodynamic performance. Throttle pedal actuation has been modified on manual transmission models, increasing the feeling of linear acceleration and giving the driver even more control when accelerating from lower speeds. The vacuum brake booster has been revised to optimise brake return control, which is especially beneficial when the driver brakes while entering a curve. The new acceleration control then kicks-in when the driver backs off the brake and steps on the accelerator again. These two new upgrades make braking more controllable and acceleration after braking both smoother and faster. Mazda have also introduced ‘active bonnet’ pedestrian protection system which automatically raises the trailing edge of the bonnet if a pedestrian impact is detected. This action provides immediate space under the bonnet to absorb impact energy and soften the blow.
