F1 Bahrain GP Rescheduled

The FIA and the Bahrain International Circuit have confirmed that rumours about the Bahrain GP being rescheduled are true.

The FIA and the Bahrain International Circuit have confirmed that rumours about the Bahrain GP being rescheduled are true. The world of Formula 1 is waiting for an official date, but the Bahrain Grand Prix is claimed to be rescheduled for October 30th.

All this means that India will probably have to host their first race in early December, to make way for the Bahrain re-shuffle. The majority of F1 teams aren’t happy about this though, because it means they’ll have to prolong mechanics holidays until mid December.

The head of the Bahrain circuit Zayed R Alzayani said “On behalf of Bahrain, I would like to thank Bernie Ecclestone, Jean Todt and the FIA and the rest of the motor sport community for the support and understanding they have extended to us this year”

Max Mosley, the former FIA president said that if it was him in Todt’s shoes, there would be no way he would reschedule the Bahrain GP, “Formula one would go to Bahrain over my dead body, it cannot happen”, he was quoted saying this by Arabian Business.

My parents are British, living and working in Bahrain.Of course it started with genuine peaceful protesters but then as usual there are a few militant groups who are not interested in the cause rather the damage they can cause. The media dramatised heavily on the trouble in Bahrain, showing pictures of violence that was actually in Libya and the ambulances that were being detained had been hijacked by the non peaceful protestors who had covered themselves in animal blood to appear injured. They also reported that a huge roundabout was called Pearl Square! The damage to Bahrain financially, loss of business and tourism will take years for them to recover from. I say well done FIA for showing that you can't let these people continue to do damage.

Peaceful un-armed protestors have been shot and killed. Medics who tried to treat the wounded arrested, detained and beaten. Tell Red Bull, Virgin, Mercedes, Ferrari and all the rest that civilised people do not want a grand prix in a country that kills its own unarmed citizens at a peaceful protest!!
