F1 European Grand Prix Preview

After the excitement of Canada, the drivers and teams head to the heat of Valencia for the European round of the F1 World Championship.

With Lewis Hamilton becoming the seventh different winner this season, will there be an eighth come Sunday afternoon?

With the top three in the Championship, Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel only separated by three points, it is the Red Bull of Vettel that has the track record in Valencia. Winning the past two years, he will look to take a third consecutive chequered flag.

Run since 2009 on the street circuit, the drivers will have 25 corners to contend with per lap. 57 laps later will see another winner crowned in the race for the Championship and there are a few outsiders looking for victory.

Lotus-Renault driver, Romain Grosjean tasted victory at the circuit in GP2, whilst his team-mate, Kimi Raikkonen will look to take his first win.

Mark Webber took the Red Bull slogan quite literally in 2010, when a collision with Heikki Kovalainen launched his car high into the air, landing upside down on its nose before ploughing off the circuit and bouncing off a tyre barrier. He will be looking to get one over his team-mate and take that top step on the podium.

After a disastrous Canadian Grand Prix, Jenson Button will look to return to form and take his second victory of the season in the McLaren-Mercedes. So far this season the racing has been unpredictable, so who nows who’ll be the first to cross the line.
