F1 Korean GP Race Results

Sebastian Vettel claimed his 10th victory of the 2011 F1 season at the Korea International Circuit, with Lewis Hamilton finishing second after taking pole position in qualifying.

Sebastian Vettel claimed his 10th victory of the 2011 F1 season at the Korea International Circuit, with Lewis Hamilton finishing second after taking pole position in qualifying. The double world champion passed Hamilton on the first lap, and managed to lead the race till the end. Jenson Button dropped down to sixth after being passed by Mark Webber, Felipe Massa and fernando Alonso before the end of the first lap.

Hamilton made his first pit stop on lap 16 and changed to a fresh set of the super-soft tyres. The safety car was deployed not long after Hamilton’s pit stop after a collision between the Mercedes GP car of Michael Schumacher and Vitaly Petrov’s Renault. Normal racing was resumed on lap 21, which saw Hamilton keep on the back of Vettel until tyre degradation helped the German open up comfortable lead at the front of the race.

Hamilton and Webber both pit on lap 34, and proceeded to fight over second place with Lewis doing a great job at holding off the Red Bull driver. Webber managed to pass Hamilton on lap 49 but Hamilton kept his cool and managed to re-pass webber at the following straight. Hamilton managed to hold Webber off to the finish and claim second place just 13 seconds behind sebastian Vettel. Jenson Button finished third. Sebastian Vettel’s win helped Red Bull clinch the 2011 Constructors championship.
