The results from the first ever Women's World Car of the Year awards have been announced, with the
Jaguar XF taking the award along with the prize of Women's World Luxury Car of the Year.
A panel of eight international female journalists conceived of the new awards idea when it was discovered that the regular World Car of the Year competition didn't feature a single woman on the judging panel.
The Jaguar XF is a classy executive car, but the attention to detail in the Jaguar XF takes this car to the next level. The luxury specifications include leather seats, Bluetooth connectivity, climate and cruise controls, a 320w premium sound system and heated windscreen. The interior of the Jaguar XF is bathed in an ice blue ambient light. The starter backlight pulses a red heartbeat, press it and the gear selector awakes rising out from nowhere. There is also a seven inch colour touch screen display navigation system.
In second place overall, and taking the Women's World Family Car of the Year title, was the Volvo XC60 compact SUV, while the Audi TTS won Women's World Sports Car of the Year and the VW Golf TDI took the inaugural Women's World Economy Car of the Year.
