Land Rover Range Rover LRX
A greener smaller upmarket 4x4
The Range Rover LRX will join Range Rovers ranks as the brands smallest and greenest model ever. The Range Rover LRX will emit less than 150g/km of co2 emissions.
Work is also ongoing on a RangeRover LRX hybrid design that can return more than 60mpg on average and scrape in at just under 120g/km.The exterior of the Range Rover LRX will retain many recognisable designs including range rovers signature clamshell bonnet, the floating roof and the solid wheel at each corner stance. There will also be an eco driving mode for the Terrain Response System that optimises traction for different surfaces, it will retain off road driving modes and four wheel drive.
Production of the Landrover LRX will start this year and it is thought that it could be on sale for the winter of 2010. Prices have been estimated to start at around £25,000.
