The new Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid brings together a 3.3 litre supercharged V6 petrol engine and an electric motor generating 47hp, the electric motor can operated independently of the combustion engine making the new Volkswagen Touareg a full hybrid.

The Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid maintains all the same virtues of space, comfort, refinement and off road and towing ability. The clean new styling lends the Volkswagen Touareg greater presence and a lower drag coefficient. Standard features include eight speed transmission as well as start/stop technology, touch screen satellite navigation and leather upholstery; in addition a choice of advanced new options can be specified.

Alongside the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid will be a three litre 240hp V6 TDI engine as well as a range topping 340hp 4.2 litre TDI V8. Production for the UK market starts in June before first deliveries in August.
