The new Mercedes E Class Estate has a 695 litre boot, if you fold the seats to capacity this grows to approximately 1950 litres. The tailgate and luggage cover are electrically operated which means an impressive ease of use. The boot floor can be folded in half and locked upright to stop bags sliding around and there are levers mounted just inside the load bay that let you drop the rear seat without having to walk around to the side of the car.

There are six engines available for the Mercedes E Class Estate, if you are looking for the petrol version there is everything from an 181bhp 1.8 litres to 382bhp 5.5 litre V8. Pick of the range would be the entry level 2.1 litre diesel this Mercedes E Class Estate averages 50mpg and also qualifies for 21% company car tax rating. It produces 168 bhp and is strong enough to cope with heavy loads.

All the Mercedes E Class range has self levelling rear suspension but Mercedes offer four different suspension setups, entry level is the SE, then there is the Avantegarde which are lowered to improve composure, the Sport models are next and then the V8 engined E500 has air suspension all round.

Prices start at £29,000 for the Mercedes E Class Estate 2.1 TD, the 3.5 V6 is priced at £38,000 and then the Mercedes E Class Estate 5.5 V8 is £47,000.
