New Audi A6 Allroad Quattro
Happy days... the new Audi A6 Allroad Quattro is here.
Happy days... the new Audi A6 Allroad Quattro is here. This beast is a tougher version of the
A6 Estate (sorry, the A6 'Avant'). But how do these siblings differ? The Allroad has four-wheel-
drive, for starters, so it better suits those who like dragging caravans through muddy fields.
It also has stainless steel under-body protection plates, just in case it bumps over a fellow
camper's mobile toilet. And what about the styling? Compared to its sibling, the Allroad has
flared wheel arches that – like its bumpers and sills – are finished in a contrasting colour to the
body. This complements the larger flattened exhausts, nicer grill, and higher ground clearance.
The Audi A6 Allroad Quattro has plenty of power for shifting mobile homes. The top-spec 3.0-
litre 310PS petrol version reaches 62mph in 5.9 seconds, and has a useful 440Nm of torque.
There is a 3.0-litre diesel engine too, with outputs of 204PS and 245PS.
The former averages
a pleasing 46.3mpg. This camping companion also has a spacious 565-litre boot increasing to
1,680-litres with the rear seats folded flat. That is comparable to the Ford Mondeo Estate. The
Allroad is also available with exterior cameras for easy parking, a head-up display, four-zone
climate control, and sat-nav. Prices start at £43,145. Hey, could I have a new caravan for that?
