New Citroen DS3 hits 200,000 mark

The 200,000th Citroen DS3 has just rolled off the production line at the Poissy plant in France

The 200,000th Citroen DS3 has just rolled off the production line at the Poissy plant in France. The Citroen DS3 was the first of the DS line and has proved to be extremely successful since its launch in March 2010. The Citroen DS3 has confirmed its place as the best selling Citroen model in the UK. More than 27,000 DS3’s have sold in the UK since its launch and the recent September registration brought another huge demand.

The Citroen DS3 stands out in the crowd with its eye catching face and upmarket LED running lights merging with the distinctive Citroen double chevron on the bonnet and a deep grill. The flared wheel arches and chrome slash in the door completes the look. Standard features include CD player, Cruise Control, Remote Locking, Electric Front Windows, Electric Mirrors and Leather Steering Wheel. The head-turning style and creative technology of the Citroen DS3 has also received official recognition, with a string of awards including Top Gear Magazine ‘Car of the Year’ for 2010 and Diesel Car Magazine ‘Car of the Year’ in 2011. The Citroen DS3 is currently available for just £199 per month on Elect 4 personal lease with three years free servicing and roadside assistance.

Alongside the main DS3 range, special editions that grabbed the public’s attention have included the powerful DS3 Racing; the chic DS3 by Orla Kiely and the luxury DS3 Ultra Prestige. The Citroen DS3 by Orla Kiely Collection is based on the fuel and CO2 efficient DStyle HDi 90 manual, a generously specified model that includes Bluetooth® and USB connectivity with prices starting from just £16,000. Meanwhile, Citroën Racing’s continued success in the DS3 WRC adds to the dynamic credentials of the car. In 2013, the launch of the Citroen DS3 Cabrio, a new soft-top version of the DS3, will further enhance the appeal of the popular model line.

The Citroen DS3 Cabrio features all the hallmarks and thrills of the DS3, with bold styling, sophisticated refinement, extensive personalisation and enjoyable handling, combined with the pleasure of al-fresco driving. The car will be offered in a range of colours and designs that add to the model’s unique personality. DS3 Cabrio owners can specify one of seven body colours with the folding roof available in three designs; black, Infinite blue and DS Monogramme. The Infinite blue soft-top uses three different coloured threads one of which is shiny each reacting differently to changes in light conditions and creating delicate hues of blue and violet.
