New Ford Mondeo with Active Park Assist
The new Ford Mondeo, revealed at the Paris Motor Show, will be equipped for European customers with a raft of innovative technologies including Advanced Active Park Assist Ford’s first system to support perpendicular parking.
It will also be the first Ford model for Europe to feature a new integral link rear suspension configuration that helps all-new Mondeo, the first vehicle built on Ford’s new global CD-segment platform, to deliver greater refinement and more dynamic performance.
Barb Samardzich, vice president Product Development said “these features underline the sophisticated quality, technology and driving experience that all-new Mondeo delivers. The Mondeo has always been at the forefront of Ford’s European passenger car range, but the all-new model is a watershed moment for large car customers and a new benchmark for features in this competitive sector.”The all-new Mondeo will be available as a five-door and wagon uniquely developed for Europe as well as a four-door that will be offered as a segment-first petrol hybrid electric vehicle, combining a specially-developed 2.0-litre petrol engine with a 35kW lithium-ion battery to provide optimised fuel economy and low CO2 emissions.
Mondeo will also offer segment-first SYNC with MyFord Touch an in-car connectivity system that delivers an eight-inch colour touchscreen and the ability to act as a WiFi hotspot for up to five devices. SYNC with MyFord Touch will enable drivers to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road while controlling phone and media player functions from connected devices, as well as the vehicle’s climate control, radio and CD-player, and navigation system, using voice commands.
