New Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel Edition
The Infiniti FX concept that was designed and built for double Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel is to enter production.
The Infiniti FX concept that was designed and built for double Formula One World
Champion Sebastian Vettel is to enter production, the Japanese motoring manufacturer
has confirmed. This mighty machine was first seen at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. It
is distinguished from its siblings via numerous appealing upgrades. These include tuning
to its monstrous 5.0-litre V8 engine that now produces an attention grabbing 420PS.
This complements the high down-force aerodynamic package that was developed in co-
operation with Red Bull Racing. Oh really? What do they know about producing fast cars?
Infiniti Executive Vice President Andy Palmer said: “Doing the FX Sebastian Vettel version
for Frankfurt was fun, but it’s also a kind of pilot. It’s about our equivalent of (Mercedes-
Benz) AMG or (BMW) M Cars. We wanted to test the organisation and see if it could
cope with this type of special version. Sebastian’s FX demonstrates we are able to do
low volume specials and the FX Sebastian Vettel version is one of the first that will go to
market.”
Infiniti produce a range of capable machines that rival prestigious marques such as
Mercedes-Benz. The FX, as such, is a large Range Rover rival.
Standard 'non Sebastian
Vettel' variants can feel limited off-road but extremely sharp on the tarmac. Prices range
from £46,750 to £58,250. The EX is the smaller alternative, and sits in the same vehicle
class as the Land Rover Freelander. Expect to pay £37,130 to £45,810. The stylish Infiniti
G rivals the BMW 3 Series and comes in saloon, convertible, and coupé guises. Very nice
too. Prices range from £33,549 to £45,235. Finally, the Infiniti M competes against the
ever-popular BMW 5 Series. This comfortable saloon costs from £38,580 - £47,700.
