New Infinity FX 50 S Premium
The Infiniti FX 50 S Premium has a problem - nobody has heard of it.
The Infiniti FX 50 S Premium has a problem - nobody has heard of it. Very few people,
in fact, have heard of Infiniti as a manufacturer. Can you hear the violins playing?
This prestigious company is the luxury wing of Nissan. It produces a range of capable
machines that for some reason tend to fly under the radar. The manufacturer reminds me
of the quiet bloke at a party, who is easy to miss but tremendous fun once you know him.
What have we got then? The Infiniti FX is a Range Rover style machine. It is limited off-
road but extremely sharp on the tarmac. Prices range from £46,750 to £58,250. The EX is
the smaller alternative, and sits in the same class as the Land Rover Freelander.
Expect
to pay £37,130 to £45,810. The stylish Infiniti G rivals the BMW 3 Series and comes in
saloon, convertible, and coupé guises. Prices range from £33,549 to £45,235. Finally, the
Infiniti M competes against the 5 Series. This comfy saloon costs from £38,580 to £47,700.
Infiniti clearly needs time to establish itself in the United Kingdom. After all, it has only
been here for two years and it took Lexus – the luxury wing of Toyota – some time to
make its presence felt. Early signs are strong, as the marque's vehicles are: stylish,
properly screwed together, easy to drive, and beautifully equipped. If you are bored of the
traditional German alternatives, Infiniti is worth a look. No more standing alone at parties.
