New Jaguar F-Type Preview

At last! The new Jaguar F-Type has finally emerged from the shadows. The pre-production version of this big cat, you see, has been seen prowling around the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The F-Type will be launched in mid-2013 as a V6/V8 convertible. A coupé may follow at some point. For now, though - as well as sipping milk at Goodwood – the F-Type is being mercilessly thrashed on challenging roads, exposed to extreme temperatures, and prodded in places only its vet should see. Why? To ensure it emerges as one of the most thrilling sports cars in the world. This feline focuses 'heavily' on driver satisfaction, after all.

Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director for Jaguar Cars, revealed: “Goodwood Festival of Speed is focused around the dynamic hill runs where the public can see, hear, and smell the cars – this is why we have chosen it as the place to showcase an F-TYPE prototype.” Adrian continued: “The development programme is progressing with vigour and we look forward to showing the world the F-TYPE in production form later this year.”

The Jaguar F-Type joins an exceptional fleet. The XF Saloon, for starters, has won more awards than a dancing cat – and a more practical estate version is on the way. The larger XJ is magnificent too, and we have the striking XK Coupé and Convertible. These are thrilling cars, and prove how much Jag has improved its fleet in recent years. Roll on 2013.
