The all-new Kia cee'd must be tougher than Chuck Norris. Why? Because Euro NCAP
- the independent body that accesses vehicle safety - has awarded this small family car
their maximum five-star rating. Lovers of the bearded maestro must be thrilled. Euro
NCAP's accreditation breaks down to scores of 89% for adult occupant protection, 88%
for child occupants, and 61% for pedestrians. The new cee'd also earned 86% for the
safety assist category. This accesses features such as the seatbelt reminder system which
operates on all five seats, and the electronic stability programme. The latter corrects over-
steer which is a phenomenon whereby the rear tyres lose traction on a corner and cause a
spin. Would any vehicle 'dare' over-steer with the almighty Chuck Norris behind the wheel?
The Kia cee'd has other virtues to inspire legendary movie stars.
These include the tiger
nose grill, LED running lights, and bulging bonnet that help it look purposeful and stylish.
Just like Chuck, then. This five-door workhorse is also available with refined petrol and
diesel engines with outputs from 90PS to 135PS. The most efficient model averages
76.3mpg and is eligible for free road tax thanks to its low emissions. This complements the
sure-footed handling, decent ride, and 380-litre boot. That is large for the class, so Chuck
fans can pack their entire fake beard collections. Also, every cee'd is nicely equipped with
air-con, Bluetooth, and MP3 playback – and high specification trims have a lane departure
warning system, parking sensors, and climate control too. That is enough to satisfy any top
class actor. Price range from £14,395 to £23,595. How much for Chuck Norris' autograph?
