New MG6 Rolls off Assembly Line

Production of the first all new MG6 has started at MG Motors UK’s factory.

Production of the first all new MG6 has started at MG Motors UK’s factory. The first car was driven off the final assembly line by Lisa Ponter currently the only woman working on the production line.

The new MG6 has a 1.8 litre turbocharged petrol engine and available in three trim models and priced from £15,495 jumping to £18,995 for the top of the range highly equipped TSE model.

MG has cut the insurance rating on the new MG6 by electronically limiting the top speed of the car. By capping the top speed of the new MG6 to 120mph the official insurance rating has been reduced by several groups.

The basic MG6 1.8T S now sits in insurance group 13 and the higher spec MG6 SE and TSE are a group higher at 14 even though the MG6 has a 1.8 litre turbo charged petrol engine producing 160hp.

Dealer demonstrators of the new MG6 are being delivered to MG’s dealer network and the first deliveries to customers will take place next month.
