The new Skoda Superb Estate has been chosen to aid emergency medics in Leeds to ferry human organs for transplant around North Yorkshire. Two of the new Skoda Superb Estates are in service with the Medical Transfer Ambulance Service in Leeds.

Barry Hamblin, MTAS Cardiac Responder said “we need the very best vehicle to help us transport organs safely and in the shortest possible time. This car really is Superb; it’s extremely reliable, a pleasure to drive and has become a crucial member of the team. The earlier the transplant, the better the success rate, so time is always of the essence. Take a heart transplant; we have a transfer window of just two hours before the organ becomes unviable. The Skoda Superb Estate is helping us to knock time our journeys, its fit for purpose and helping us save lives.”

The Skoda Superb Estates are equipped with direct fuel injection for optimum fuel efficiency performance and low emissions. Trim levels mirror those of the Superb hatchback with S, SE and Elegance models available. Optional features include keyless entry and ignition system and a revised version of the hatchbacks award winning Park Assist system that allows the estate to parallel park in an even tighter space than before. There is also an electronically operated boot opening and panoramic sunroof available.
