New Toyota Aygo Preview
Sorry, I cannot reveal the new Toyota Aygo's secrets.
Sorry, I cannot reveal the new Toyota Aygo's secrets. This is not because I have sworn to
keep my mouth shut, or because I lack the time. The problem is that its full specification
must remain secret until nearer the launch in March 2012. I have, however, extracted a
few tit-bits from the motoring grapevine. For starters, this run-around is more fuel efficient
than its predecessor. It averages up to 65.7mpg and carbon emissions fall as low as 99g/
km. That ensures rock-bottom fuel bills and free road tax.
This robustly constructed run-
around also has a higher quality interior, easier boot access, and a few more gadgets.
Now, a James Bond-style mission has revealed that the new Toyota Aygo looks more
planted on the road than the out-going model. This creates the impression that it
handles properly. Features include the purposeful front bumper, large air intake, and the
pleasingly-styled fog lights. LED running lights emphasis the focussed look. That is an
unusual gadget on a city car that is likely to cost from £8,600. The Aygo also has rear
privacy glass for convenience, new fourteen-inch wheels for style, and seven paint finishes
to protect its steel. These include in-your-face metallic orange. Ewwwww, I would have
kept that secret.
