The Rolls-Royce Phantom Tungsten is the latest special edition to be featured as part of the company's exclusive Bespoke Collection.

And although it could be argued that any Rolls-Royce is bespoke and exclusive, this Phantom does have a number of particularly alluring features, inspired by the 101EX concept car.

As a result the imposing bodywork is painted in Xirallic Darkest Tungsten, a shade apparently never before used on a production Rolls-Royce. This is particularly eye-catching in contrast with the brushed aluminium finish to the bonnet. Rolls-Royce has previously employed this dramatic two-tone look on the Phantom Drophead Coupé, but the optional bonnet finish on that car is stainless steel. One's mechanic will doubtless be relieved that aluminium is easier to look after. The Tungsten also gains 21-inch forged aluminium wheels, and - don't be shocked - clearly visible exhaust tailpipes. Stainless steel with a chrome finish, these certainly spice up the Phantom's looks.

If that is all in danger of becoming a little too racy, an air of calm is restored by the Tungsten's sumptuous interior. Trimmed in contrasting Smoke Grey and Navy Blue leather, the exterior's two-tone effect is reflected here, too. The veneer is East Indian Rosewood, while the steering wheel features metal spokes to match the full-width, micro-engraved metal fascia. However, the most impressive aspect of the cabin is the Starlight headliner. With 800 fibre optic lights embedded in perforated black leather, passengers can sit back, relax, and stare up at the Rolls-Royce' interpretation of a starry night sky. Sounds like bliss.

But then it ought to, because the Phantom Tungsten package costs £22,000 (plus tax) on top of the regular Phantom's £265,500 asking price. We make that £291,350 all in, but then you are getting an extra special version of the best luxury car in the world.
