The Skoda Fabia vRS was used to launch the start of the new Channel 5 motoring show Fifth Gear. The Skoda Fabia vRS was the car chosen to break seven national speed records. The Škoda Fabia vRS broke the records that have stood for over 20 years thanks to its 139mph top speed.
Fifth Gear presenter Jonny Smith made full use of the Skoda Fabia vRS' standard 7-speed, twin-clutch gearbox and its 0-62mph time of just 7.3 seconds to break seven national records for time taken to cover 5km, 5 miles, 10km, 10 miles, 50km, 50 miles and 100km in its class at Millbrook Proving Ground's high speed bowl in September. Due to the state-of-the-art direct injection, supercharged and turbocharged engine, the Skoda Fabia vRS produces 180bhp from just 1.4-litres, perfect for smashing the MSA Class F British speed record for 1,100 to 1,500 cc petrol engined cars.
The new Skoda Fabia vRS has bolder styling with a new front bumper with fog lights and LEDS, 17 inch wheels, red brake calipers, tinted windows and a new rear bumper with diffuser and twin exhausts to complete the new look. Prices start at £15,700.
