Skoda Yeti is ‘Car of the Year 2010’

The Skoda Yeti was honoured with the top award of 'Car of the Year 2010' at the Auto Express New Car Awards. The winner of the Auto Express Car of the Year prize has to be the unanimous choice of the judging panel and is picked from a line-up of class champions. This year the award goes to a car that blends the looks of an off-roader with the versatility of a compact MPV, but doesn't demand the dynamic or financial compromises usually associated with either.

Skoda UK Director Robert Hazelwood commented on the awards "This is a fantastic honour! We're delighted that Auto Express thinks as highly of the Skoda Yeti as we do. It's a fantastic car and is selling well ahead of even our optimistic forecasts."

There are two petrol and three diesel engines available. The entry engine is a front-wheel drive, petrol engine with four cylinders and 1.2 litre capacity, which delivers an impressive 105bhp (77kW). 

The luggage compartment volume is highly flexible up to 1,760 litres is available by removing the rear seats. A luggage cover and net as well as lashing rings are available to secure any load. The 4x4 variants are characterised by outstanding off-road ability and excellent traction, coupled with low emission values and fuel consumption.

The Skoda Yeti gives today&rsquo s drivers exactly what they require: economical running costs, outstanding flexibility, great practicality, and less impact on the environment.
