The used Mercedes-Benz E350 CDI Sport Coupe is a rare blend of thrilling sports car and luxurious grand tourer. This magnificent beast, which was introduced in 2009, has a 3.0-litre 227bhp diesel engine that propels prosperous motorists to 60mph in 6.5 seconds, and on to 155mph. Not bad for a large vehicle that averages 41mpg, has emissions of 179g/km, and can be taxed for only £200.

Safety-wise motorists are protected by numerous air-bags, including one for the driver's knees, plus the electronic stability programme and tyre pressure warning system.
