The Volkswagen Group has recorded extremely impressive sales figures for the first two months of 2012. In fact, the company delivered a staggering 1.29 million vehicles worldwide, a 7.7% increase compared to the equivalent period last year. Furthermore, February 2012 was a particularly successful month for Europe's largest automotive manufacturer. New deliveries totalled 642,300 - a mighty 15.1% more than February 2011.Christian Klingler, Group Board Member for Sales, said: “We are very satisfied with the Group’s noticeably positive performance. However, we will remain vigilant over the coming months in spite of this clear upward trend and are keeping a very close eye on the markets – especially in Western Europe.” The Volkswagen Group incorporates several significant marques. VW themselves registered 818,800 passenger cars in the first two months of 2012 – an 8% rise. Audi delivered 202,700 machines which is a 8.5% increase, and Skoda sales rose by 11.6% to a pleasing 147,500. Seat sales were modest, and fell as a result of shrinking markets by 12.2%, to 44,800. In contrast, Volkswagen's commercial sales expanded. Registrations increased to 79,700 units, an 8.9% rise. Perhaps, one day, every motorists will own a VW.
