Used Honda for sale
A Honda breakdown is rarer than a solar eclipse. So, whereas the hard shoulder tends to be filled with the "usual suspects" these Japanese cars have the staying power of a black hole. No wonder the manufacture has been topping reliability surveys since before the big bang. Clearly, its products suit those that want easy, no-nonsense, transport that will keep working years after the sun's brightness has faded to that of a naff candle. Second-hand highlights - for those on a budget - include the Honda Accord Saloon (1998 to 2003). This workhorse is nicely equipped considering its age, pleasant to drive, and tremendous value for money. Find one that has been loved and it will have plenty of life remaining. Alternatively, those with a bit more cash might favour its replacement that was launched in 2008. This Accord feels more composed and is better equipped than its predecessor. There is an estate version too, but cargo capacity is modest compared to some rivals. There is, however, enough room for a nice collection of space encyclopedias.
And there is more. The Honda S2000 (1999 to 2009) is a fun-focussed convertible for thrill seekers. Plenty of power and stunning looks come as standard. In fact, this plaything could be considered a future classic - particularly as it was introduced to celebrate the manufacturer's fiftieth birthday. As this is a performance car, the buyer should check for signs it has been thrashed such as extreme wear on the tyre shoulders caused by consistent, hard, cornering. The same effect can be seen on the space shuttle (maybe). But whereas this manufacture has occasionally produced fast cars it is most associated with practical machines for sensible motorists. Tempting prospects - in addition to the Accord Saloon/Tourer - include the Civic Hatchback (2006 to 2011). This workhorse has a very large cargo capacity for the class and is easy to drive thanks to its nicely weighted steering and comfortable ride. This is joined in the range by the 2008 Honda Jazz which is a comfortable town car with sliding rear seats. Very nice too. For easy resale, try to avoid the basic trim that lacks essentials such as air-con. The company has also produced four-wheel-drives such as the CR-V (in certain forms), the Insight which is a hybrid, and the Stream which is a seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle. All are reliable enough to get to the moon and back - but watch out for those little green men.
