Used Renault For Sale

Bonjour! Welcome to Renault. This French company has produced a wide range of cars but is best known for superminis and people carriers (plus its love of fine wine and cheese). Highlights include the Renault Clio (2005 to 2012) which is nice to drive, safe for its age, cheap to run and easily sourced on the second-hand market. Early examples can be picked-up for very little money. Cheaper still is its predecessor that was launched in 2001. But be careful - this is far outclassed by its sibling so best not pay to much. In contrast, the 2012 Clio is refined and has been consistently praised by the motoring press. This is reflected by its used prices. Most notable is the Renaultsport 200 Turbo EDC trim that hits 62mph in 6.7 seconds. Getting to Paris has never been so much fun. Now, time to talk old stuff. The Renault 5 was produced from the seventies to the nineties and is now considered a classic. Expect to pay a pretty penny, then. The Renault 5 Turbo in particular costs a small fortune considering its age and class. That said, buy and maintain a decent example and the value might increase further in the coming years.

And onto people carriers. The Renault Espace from the eighties was one of the first popular seven seater vehicles - and like fine wine it improved considerably over the years. The 2003 to 2012 version is, therefore, a monstrously spacious machine that has fairly confident handling. Early versions now cost very little but - as it is a family car - check for a heavily worn interior and evidence of abuse. There is also the Grand Espace which is slightly longer. Great, more space for models of the Eiffel Tower. Furthermore, the 1997 to 2003 Renault Espace is now so cheap that some versions can bought with a new test certificate then binned the moment they become troublesome and/or expensive. And that brings us to the Renault Scenic which is a smaller people carrier. The 2003 to 2009 model is now within the reach of everyday motorists although its replacement still costs a fair sum. Renault has also produced small family cars such as the Megane, and large family cars such as the Laguna. Both are nice enough, but not necessarily the most refined in their respective classes. But never mind. Long live France.
