Used Volkswagen For Sale
Volkswagen has produced numerous iconic cars that are more popular than a free holiday. The Beetle, for example, is loved by almost every human on the planet plus a large proportion of dogs. But still, that was no excuse to produce those nauseating "Herbie" films. Now, in simple terms second-hand buyers have three options. Classic models are now highly prized so decent examples cost a healthy pile of cash. Alternatively, there is a version from the nineties which is less loved so it can be picked-up for very little. But please, remove that silly flower holder from the dashboard. There are also a few modern generation examples (2012 onwards) now creeping onto the second-hand market for those who prefer a more muscular look. All three are available in tin-top and convertible body styles. And that is only the beginning. Why? Because Volkswagen has produced several versions of its legendary campervan that - even when decades old - look striking, provide hours of fun, and command surprisingly high prices. And we have not even mentioned the Golf GTi that brought performance motoring to the masses and started the hot-hatch revolution in the seventies. Such cars are now usable classics and - for those who choose wisely - sound long term investments.
And there is more. The Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Passat Estate - which have been around since the dawn of time - are amongst the most capable in their classes (in recent forms). The Polo supermini is therefore fantastic to drive and cheap to run. There is a GTi version too. The Passat Estate, in contrast, is a tremendous family workhorse particularly in four-wheel-drive form. The manufacturer also has a little known secret running around the second-hand market. The Phaeton is a supremely luxurious saloon that costs comparatively little once it is a few years old (if you can find one). Highlights include its 6.0-litre W12 engine and luxurious specification that includes the: heated leather steering wheel, four-zone climate control and leather seats, etc. Volkswagen also produces traditional four-wheel-drives such as the Touareg, convertibles such as the Eos, the "up!" city car and the seven-seater Sharan. Now, let us talk money. A second-hand Volkswagen tends to cost more than its rivals. This reflects the exceptional build quality that ensures most run without issue to very high mileage. Few regret buying a Volkswagen - but perhaps everyone regrets watching those Herbie films. Ahhh.
