5. Mitsubishi L200
The L200 has entered its fifth generation, replacing the 4th gen model which was on sale from 2006 and, Mitsubishi claim outsold the world-famous Toyota Hilux. Mitsubishi haven’t radically redesigned their L200, instead, they’ve made the spec-sheet simpler while also increasing the variety of models and body shapes available. The single-cab pick up is available for as little as £21,740, but this won’t be too helpful for private buyers. Instead, the double cab priced from £22,945 is the one to look at. It is exclusively available with Mitsubishi’s 2.4-litre diesel engine which has bags of torque and a combined towing and load weight of 4.090 tonnes. The bed is big enough to carry a single Euro pallet and strong enough to hold 1,040kilograms. Inside, the L200 is very rugged and hard-wearing, which is what people demand and expect from their pick-up trucks.
