How Scrappage Incentive works
The Škoda Scrappage Incentive cuts the cost of your new, environmentally friendly, car by between £1,500 and £4,000 until March 31st 2018 if you scrap an old, inefficient, diesel. To qualify:
- Part exchange a diesel, of any make, that was registered prior to January 1st 2010 that cannot meet Euro 5 emission standards
- Ensure you have owned the part exchange for at least 6 months
- Recognise that your elderly, inefficient, part exchange is to recycled so it can no longer pollute the environment
- Choose Škoda: Citigo (£1,500), Fabia (£2,500), Rapid (£3,000) Rapid Spaceback (£3,000), Octavia (£3,500) or Superb (£4,000)
Škoda Scrappage Incentive car overview
The Citigo 3/5-Door Hatch is a small, city class, vehicle priced from £8,780. Low running costs are among its key strengths. It averages up to 68.9mpg and – thanks to low emissions - can be taxed in its first year from £120. Furthermore, the 3 Year/60,000 mile manufacturer warranty eliminates expense if there is a malfunction.
The Fabia 5-Door Hatch/Estate is a supermini that costs from £10,495. Its Euro NCAP, 5 star, rating proves safety is among its primary virtues. It can automatically brake if a collision is likely, for starters. The electronic stability control, wide range of airbags and tyre pressure monitor provide further reassurance.
The Rapid is a small, family class, hatchback that costs from £15,470. Key virtues include “class leading” passenger head and knee room, the manufacturer confirmed.
