World Car Awards 2015
2015 World Car of the Year finalists include a muscle car, supermini, four-wheel-drive and family estate, World Car Awards has confirmed. Each earned its place following a first round of voting by motoring journalists who evaluated a vast range of vehicles. The seventy-five strong jury includes members from all over the world.
In alphabetical order, the contenders are the: BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, Citroën C4 Cactus, Ford Mustang, Hyundai Genesis, Jeep Renegade, Mazda2, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, MINI 5 door / MINI 4 door, Nissan Qashqai and Volkswagen Passat. Contenders now face a second round of voting where the short list will fall from ten, to three.
The final three will be revealed to the press and other interested parties at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015, before the winner is confirmed at the New York International Auto Show in April 2015.
2015 World Luxury Car
World Car Awards manages a series of other titles too. 2015 World Luxury Car finalists – as defined by the jury of seventy-five motoring journalists via the first round of voting - are the: BMW i8, BMW X6, Cadillac ATS Coupé, Cadillac Escalade / ESV, Kia K900, Lexus NX, Lexus RC, Lincoln MKC, Mercedes-Benz S Coupe and the Range Rover Autobiography Black LWB.
2015 World Performance Car
World Car Awards also recognises excellence in more sports-focussed machinery. The 2015 World Performance Car finalists include the: Audi S1, Audi S3, Audi TT / TTS, Bentley Continental GT Speed, BMW M4 Coupe / M3 Sedan,Corvette Z06, Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupe, Lexus RC-F and the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT.
2015 World Green Car
The 2015 World Green Car title is handled differently. Experts in green technology review the specification of nominees, then create a short list for the jurors to consider during the second round of voting. Finalists are the: BMW i8, Hyundai x35 / Tucson Fuel Cell, Kia Soul EV, Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine and the Volkswagen Golf GTE.
2015 World Car Design Of The Year
2015 World Car Design of the Year finalists have either been taken from the list of World Car candidates, or included as a stand-alone entry. Again, a design panel consisting of five respected design experts review candidates to establish a short-list for the jurors. The finalists are the: BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, Citroën C4 Cactus, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Porsche Macan and the Volvo XC90.
