Learner driver partnership continues
Confirming their status as some of the UK ’ s most popular cars, the Ford Fiesta and the Ford Focus will continue to be the models of choice for the AA Driving School.
Ford has announced that it has extended its agreement to supply up to 2,000 new Ford models to the driving school each year – enabling learner drivers to practice on some of the UK ’ s best-selling models.
The announcement continues a link between Ford and the AA Driving School. AA instructors provide the tuition for Ford ’ s free driver training programme Driving Skills for Life – designed to fast-track the skills and experience of new drivers after they have passed their practical test. The training, delivered in Fiesta and Focus vehicles, highlights potential dangers such as using a mobile phone at the wheel and drink driving.
As well as providing a popular driving experience, the Ford vehicles also offer some useful new technologies for new drivers. One of these is MyKey, which allows parents to limit the top speed of the vehicle and to adjust the volume of the radio remotely – encouraging safer driving. Parents can also enable a ‘ Beltminder ’ technology that will remind the driver to buckle their seat belt by muting the vehicle's radio and chiming for six seconds every minute for five minutes.
