The all new Range Rover has been declared the ‘Luxury Car of the Year’ by Top Gear magazine. The Range Rover really is in a class of its own, nothing really does compete with it and the latest model is more efficient and even more luxurious.
The entry level engine is a 258bhp V6 diesel starting from £71,295 plus there is a V8 diesel. The supercharged V8 petrol is offered at £98,395, all versions come with an eight speed auto box as standard. The supercharged V8 petrol is clearly equivalent to the pace of any sports car the fuel bill will be outrageous but then if you can afford to buy the all-new Range Rover then you can most probably afford the fuel.
The interior is extremely luxurious with a list of premium features including top of the range Meridian sound systems; a best-in-class four-zone climate control system; redesigned seating with a multi-mode massage function and the option of an executive arrangement for the rear seats; connectivity for linking and using mobile devices and the use of LED technology to create sophisticated ambient lighting, all sounds so fabulous you could live in it.
Awarded the top Euro NCAP safety rating of five stars, safety elements are outstanding including Intelligent Emergency Braking with Advanced Brake Assist; Blind Spot Monitoring with a new Closing Vehicle Sensing feature; and Reverse Traffic Detection, that warns of potential collisions when making reversing manoeuvres. The Surround Camera System is impressive enabling the driver to gain a 360 degree around the vehicle including a T-junction view which helps the line of sight when making turns. John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director who presented the all-new Range Rover at at the recent Paris Motor Show said “we set out to create not just the world’s finest luxury SUV but the world’s finest luxury vehicle.” When you see this new model there is no doubt that he is right.
Overall it is better equipped, more spacious and luxury has been taken to the next level this means the all-new Range Rover is more expensive than the previous generation of models but hey who cares as its worth it !
Geraldine Ashton Green of motoring.co.uk adds what a great few years for Range Rover, first came record breaking sales of the Range Rover Sport then the Evoque simply smashed sales records beyond belief, and now probably the greatest Range Rover of all time.
