Strongest first quarter in its history for Audi
Audi AG is enjoying its strongest first quarter in it's history. Worldwide deliveries have reached approximately 369,500 units from January through to March which is up 6.8% on the same time last year.
The Audi SUV models are a big part of Audi’s success together with a very successful start for the A3 Sportback. Luca de Meo, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG said “building on the first quarter’s record deliveries, we want to continue this positive sales trend over the next months too, the new A3 Sportback will also contribute to this goal. It was successfully introduced in the first markets in February and we are very pleased with the response from the dealerships.”
The Audi A3 Sportback is probably the best ‘posh’ hatchback you can buy, it has an outstanding interior with excellent standard specification, it is enjoyable to drive and has strong resale values. The car was also awarded the maximum five star rating for passive crash safety. The results for adult occupant protection in a frontal, rear, and side impact as well as child safety and pedestrian protection make the new Audi A3 one of the safest cars in its class.
The Audi A4 Avant is the of the most popular models in Germany with over eleven thousand sold in the first quarter and in China between January and March the Audi A6L further underscored its position as the most successful business saloon in the Chinese premium segment. In Eastern Europe there has been a steady growth in sales and in Russia the most popular Audi models are the Q3 and Q5 these two models account for 48% of Audi sales.
Successful SUV Models
The Audi Q7 and Q5 have been very successful for Audi; these attractive SUV’s are very popular. The Q5 is an impressive car, the smaller version of the Q7 still with a large boot and generous interior space for passengers. It is offered with a choice of six engines including a 3.0 litre V6 diesel. The Audi Q3 is the smaller sibling of the Audi Q5 and the imposing Audi Q7. This version rivals the BMW X1 and Range Rover Evoque and has received five stars the highest possible score for passive crash safety by Euro NCAP. It was also rated best in class in the ‘Small Off Road 4x4’. The Audi Q3 was assessed for its adult occupant protection in a frontal or side collision, child safety and pedestrian protection and achieved a top rating of five stars.
The new Audi RS Q3 made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show last month. The Audi RS family is growing this new RS Q3 is the fourth model to join the range. Prices for the new Audi RS Q3 have yet to be released but order books will be open in the summer with deliveries later in the year.
