Audi is celebrating a new record breaking year, 123,622 Audi models were sold in the UK and worldwide sales climbed by 11.7%.
Luca de Meo, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG for Sales and Marketing said “in 2012, Audi achieved new record totals in every region worldwide, including in Europe. We managed to buck the negative market trend and continued to grow there, extending our lead as the strongest premium brand, worldwide our new models in particular gave us an extra lift over the past year, most notably the very popular Audi Q3, it has helped the entire Audi SUV family become a mainstay of our success, now accounting for one-quarter of all deliveries for the first time.” Over 78,700 examples of the Audi Q3 were sold in Europe last year; the Q3 is the smaller sibling of the Audi Q5 and the imposing Audi Q7. The exterior of the Q3 has the Audi muscular look from the shape of the grille to the LED front and rear lights. It is offered with a 168bhp and 208bhp two litre TFSI petrol engine and a 175bhp and a 2.0 litre TDI diesel. The Audi Q3 has the potential for 50-plus mpg fuel efficiency it is capable of 0-62mph in just 9.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 126mph. The Audi A3 was awarded the safest car in the small off road 4x4 category by the Euro NCAP for 2011. The popularity of this SUV is due to the size it can seat five comfortably plus it has an accommodating load bay, it is big but not over-big! It does all an SUV requires but it is still city friendly.
