Give thanks for the Bentley Continental GT, lovingly admire the soft-top GTC, and praise- be for the Mulsanne. These mighty machines ensured their manufacturer's sales figures increased by 37% in 2011, compared to the previous year. In fact, global sales reached 7,003. The manufacturer's biggest market was the US, where Americans purchased 2021 vehicles. That is 32% more than 2010. China was the second biggest consumer, so a further 1,839 cars now live in this memorable country. That is nearly double the previous year's figure. In contrast, sales in the UK were trickier – although the manufacturer sold 1,031 cars. That represents a 5% increase, which is fair considering the economic climate.Bentley’s Chairman and Chief Executive, Wolfgang Dürheimer, said: “It has been a tremendously good year for Bentley. The dramatic sales growth reflects a global strength to the Brand and a recognition of the quality, craftsmanship and engineering excellence of our cars. It is also testament to the work of the entire Bentley Team whose passion and daily commitment has delivered this outstanding result. It has been particularly pleasing to see renewed interest in Bentley in established as well as and new and emerging markets, all of which is contributing to a positive operating result for 2011.
