A Bentley Turbo R will be auctioned to raise money for a “critical operation urgently required” by Steven Brown
A Bentley Turbo R will be auctioned to raise money for a “critical operation urgently required” by Steven Brown - a twenty-five year old from Middlesex. The Bentley – which has been supplied for free by its owner – will therefore be sold by Historics at Brooklands on November 24th 2012. Steven was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour in 2010. Unfortunately, despite high-dose chemotherapy, the tumour failed to reduce in size and UK neurosurgeons say it is inoperable. However, Steven’s parents have found a “pioneer in endoscopic brain surgery” at a specialist medical institute in Los Angeles, USA. Here, experts say they can help but his family must first raise the £100,000 required for treatment.Edward Bridger-Stille, Auction Director, said: “We are immensely grateful to the owner of the Bentley for his enormous generosity in selflessly giving us his car to raise money for Steven. We will naturally add to the total raised at auction by donating all fees and commissions from the sale. We would like to encourage everyone to please spread the word about Steven’s plight, and the auction of the Bentley, in our effort to make the very most we can for Steven from the sale. As Steven's father said to me … imagine if it were your son.” The Bentley Turbo R has Tudor Red paint complemented by a magnolia interior with red piping. Unusually, it has a factory-fit electric sunroof and leather headlining too. Historics say it is “in good condition throughout”, has a long MOT, and will be sold without a reserve. This is therefore an opportunity to own a magnificent car and push Steven further down his road to recovery. Motorists can also help by contributing at: www.stevensfightingfund.co.uk.
