The new Toyota Prius+ is the first full hybrid model in Europe to offer seven seats. The Toyota Prius+ provides increased accommodation space for passengers, there are three independent split folding second row seats and a 50:50 split folding third row. Even though there is a significant increase in size the Toyota Prius+ retains the performance benefits associated with Prius including the lowest fuel consumption of any seven seater on the market. It is due to be launched on the European market in early 2012.Chevrolet has launched a new compact MPV the Chevrolet Orlando. It is available with a 1.8 litre petrol engine or two new powerful diesel derivatives. The diesel engine models offer a combined mpg figure of 47.1 mpg with co2 emissions of 159g/ km. Prices start from £16,395 on the road and the Chevrolet Orlando also benefits from best-in-class insurance group ratings and no other seven-seat MPV can match the 1.8-litre petrol model’s 10E T1 classification.
