BMW Group Unveil Their Lower Emissions Allowance
A new scrappage incentive offering £2,000 off BMW and MINI cars.
BMW have jumped aboard the industry-wide movement to replace the older, more polluting cars on our roads with newer, cleaner and more efficient models.
The BMW Group have long sought after an environment where sustainable mobility is the benchmark for the automotive industry. This latest incentive is a clear effort towards making that dream a reality.
The Lower Emissions Allowance scheme offers an additional £2,000 off all-new BMW and MINI vehicles which emit less than 130g/km of CO2.
With this deal, customers will be able to drive away in a new, cleaner Euro-6-compliant BMW for under £155 per month.
This deal includes the ‘progressive vehicles’ in the lineups, such as the BMW i3, BMW i8 and the MINI Countryman PHEV.
To qualify, customers will need to trade in a diesel-powered Euro-4 standard (or older) vehicle, of any brand, and the replacement car must be either an all-electric car or a Euro-6 compliant vehicle.
For clarity, roughly 80% of BMW’s vehicle range achieve under 130g/km of CO2, and 70% of the MINI range, so you’ve got plenty to choose from, although sadly the new BMW M5 isn’t quite efficient enough…
Graeme Grieve, CEO of BMW Group UK, said: “BMW offers the widest range of low emission vehicles of any manufacturer. We were the first premium marque to make a clear commitment to electric mobility and having a range of sustainable mobility options too. We know in the early phases that people still need some incentive to make the jump to fully electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles and that is why we are delighted to announce this new allowance. For those who the alternative drivetrains do not suit their lifestyle we still offer allowance qualifying Euro-6 compliant petrol and diesel engine cars that are cleaner than ever.”
The deal is available right now and expires on the 31st of December 2017. See BMW's official site for the full terms and conditions.
