Long live France.... the Citroen DS range has claimed the Road Test Editor’s Award in the 2012 Fleet World Honours. That has to be worth opening your favourite cheese for? The DS line – which includes the DS3, DS4, and DS5 – focuses more heavily on style than the rest of the manufacturer's range. As such these vehicles look better than the view from the Eiffel Tower. Great, shall we celebrate with some table wine too? Furthermore, the DS line-up tends to feel more engaging on the road than its traditional siblings - but some are inevitably more successful than others. The Citroën DS3 is particularly strong. Garlic, Sir?Fleet World’s Motoring Editor, Alex Grant – who might enjoy touring Paris in a DS - said: “Taking Gallic flair to new heights, the DS line distils everything we love about Citroen’s unique style and sophistication into some fantastic cars. DS3, DS4 and now DS5 prove you don’t always have to do things in a Germanic way to give drivers premium quality.” Citroen UK Fleet Director, Andy Wady – who I suspect knows his cheeses – added: “An ever growing number of fleet drivers appreciate the DS line’s design flair, driving dynamics, comfort and the very latest Citroen diesel hybrid technology. DS5 Hybrid4 models deliver a unique combination of 200hp performance, zero emissions city driving, 4WD capability, and exceptionally low CO2 emissions from just 99g/km.”
