Dacia focusses on value for money
Dacia's “Ambiance Prime” is a new, special edition, trim that incorporates extras for the Sandero, Logan MCV and Duster. It: “combines good looks and great value (and has) key features to enhance the look of your car”, the manufacturer claimed. If specified separately on lesser trims such extras cost up to £1,190.
Sandero Ambiance Prime features
Let us consider how each model benefits. The Sandero is a supermini and - in Access, 1.2-litre 75PS petrol, form – the most affordable new car in the United Kingdom. Prices start from £5,995, it has 5 doors, 5 seats and boot capacity is a class-competitive 320-litres.
New Ambiance Prime trim extras include the Chestnut metallic paintwork. It also has 15” “Aquila” alloy wheels and front fog lights. The trim can be teamed with the: 1.2-litre 75PS petrol engine (48.7mpg & 130g/km CO2), the 0.9-litre 90PS diesel (57.7mpg & 109g/km CO2), and a 1.5-litre 90PS diesel (80.7mpg & 90g/km CO2).
The Ambiance Prime trim is based on the Ambiance so has its features too. Highlights include: body-coloured bumpers, 2-tone “Atom” upholstery, 3 height-adjustable rear headrests, remote central locking, electric front windows and Bluetooth. Diesel versions also have a system that saves fuel by switching-off the engine while stationary, then restarting automatically as required.
Logan MCV Ambiance Prime features
The Logan MCV is the most affordable new estate in the UK; in entry-level Access, 1.2-litre 75PS, form (£6,995). Cargo capacity is 573-litres – which is impressive – and it has 5 doors and 5 seats.
As with the Sandero, Ambiance Prime adds Chestnut metallic paint, 15” “Aquila” wheels and front fog lights to the Ambiance trim specification (as above). Duster Ambiance Prime features
The Duster is a sports-utility vehicle that costs from £9,495. It has front or 4-wheel-drive, 5 seats, 5 doors and a 475-litre boot. Ambiance Prime extras include Chestnut paintwork and – in contrast to the Sandero and Logan MVC versions - 16” “Everest” alloy wheels.
Ambiance Prime engines include the 1.6-litre, 115PS, petrol. Expect 44.1mpg and CO2 of 145g/km in front-wheel-drive form (41.5mpg & 155g/km in 4-wheel). The 1.5-litre 110PS diesel, in contrast, returns 64.2mpg and 115g/km in front-wheel-drive guise. The Duster 4x4 model averages 60.1mpg and emits carbon at the rate of 123g/km.

The Dacia Sandero Ambiance Prime costs from £7,295 to £9,095. Prices for the Logan MCV Ambiance Prime, in contrast, start at £8,295 rising to £10,095. Duster versions cost £10,995 to £14,495.
