Lewis Hamilton won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in a cammanding fashion after Sebastian Vettel retired after the first lap with a puncture to his right rear tyre. Sebatian Vettel started on pole for the fourteenth time this year - equalling the record set in 1992 by Nigel Mansell, and managed to get a great start off the line and lead into the first corner, but spun out on turn two due to the puncture on his right rear tyre. Hamilton then led the race till the chequered flag, only surrendering the lead during pit stops.Jenson Button suffered from a KERS related problem during the race, with the system only working at certain times in the race. Jenson Button was the first of the top five placed cars to switch to the medium tyres on lap thirty seven, followed by Hamilton and Massa on lap fourty. Alonso then led the race until lap fourty four, until he pit to switch to the medium compound tyres. Mark Webber made his mandatory switch to the medium compound tyres at the start of the last lap, and rejoined the race in fourth place. Fernando Alonso finished in second, followed by Jenson Button in third, Mark Webber in fourth, Felipe Massa in fifth, Nico Rosberg in sixth, Michael schumacher in seventh, Adrian Sutil in eighth, Paul Di Resta in ninth and Kamui Kobayashi.
