Drivers to drop out of Q1 were Timo Glock, Jerome D’Ambrosio, Daniel Ricciardo, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Jarno Trulli, Heikki Kovalainen and Pastor Maldonado.Sebastian Vettel went fastest in Q2 with a time of 1:12.446, followed by Nico Rosberg and Mark Webber. Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button went fourth and fifth fastest respectively. Drivers to drop out of Q2 were Sergio Perez, Kamui Kobayashi, Vitaly Petrov, Sebastian Buemi, Jaime Alguersuari, Rubens Barrichello and Paul Di Resta. Sebastian Vettel set the benchmark quite early in Q3 with a time of 1:12.268, and the closest driver to get to him at the start of Q3 was team mate Mark Webber with a time of 1:12.518. Sebastian Vettel then set a quicker time of 1:11.918 to take pole position and set a record of 15 pole positions in one season beating Nigel Mansell’s record of 14. Mark Webber starts second followed by, Jenson Button in third, Lewis Hamilton fourth, Fernando Alonso fifth, Nico Rosberg sixth, Felipe Massa seventh, Adrian Sutil eighth, Bruno Senna ninth and Michael Schumacher in tenth.
