Mark Webber won the 2011 Brazilian GP, after a superb drive and a gearbox problem for Sebastian Vettel saw him cross the line over 16 seconds faster than his German team mate.Sebastian Vettel was told on lap 5 that he was suffering from a suspected gearbox problem, and should short shift to get the maximum life out the gearbox. Vettel wasn’t the only driver to suffer with gearbox issues, Lewis Hamilton retired on lap 47 after his gearbox failed and he was forced to park the car off track. Bruno Senna received a drive through penalty for causing a collision with Michael Schumacher, which ended with the German having a punctured left rear tyre. Timo Glock retired from the race after his left rear tyre came off while leaving the pit lane, and Williams driver Pastor Maldonado also ritired early from the race after crashing out into the barriers on lap 26. The top ten of the Brazilian grand prix finished like this, Mark webber first followed by Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Adrian Sutil, Nico Rosberg, Paul Di Resta, Kamui Kobayashi and Vitaly Petrov in tenth.
