Father’s Day at ‘Silverstone’

Classic Motor Racing Festival

Stuck for ideas for Father’s Day? Want to do something different? Well one way to spoil your Dad this year would be tickets to the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival; the Silverstone Classic running from the 26th to the 28th July.

Numerous attractions, entertainment and activities are featured which start with a fantastic line-up of twenty-four thrilling races featuring many of the world’s rarest, most spectacular and valuable historic racing cars. Cars range from the 1930’s to the 1990’s which cover the history of Formula 1, Le Mans, sports and GT cars. Many famous faces will be present including celebrity chef James Martin and television presenter Tiff Needell who will be racing plus three-times F1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart will be joining a host of legendary drivers from past generations all enjoying the superb nostalgia at Silverstone.

Seven thousand classic cars will be displayed ranging from Ferraris and Maseratis, Morgan’s and MG’s plus Aston Martin will be staging its centenary and Porsche is planning a mega parade of 911 versions of its 911s to mark fifty years of the world’s best-selling sportscar. There is clearly an awful lot to see and do in one day!

Rock concerts and numerous attractions

There is something for everyone as live music is also a main feature over the weekend with major concerts on both evenings, the world’s biggest Pink Floyd tribute band tops the bill on Friday, while Saturday’s performances feature Sixties pop legends The Hollies and both rock concerts is included within the general circuit admission price. Other attractions include a vintage fun fair, aerial displays, the Parachute Regiment, the Red Devils, hot air balloons, helicopter flights, streetcar shoot-outs, an off-road zone, rally car and 4x4 experiences as well as giant TV screens showing all the on-track action.
