Pictures of the new MG 6 five seater fastback have been released. It has been seven years since the last MG and it is hoped production will be begin late next year. These first images reveal stylish and sporty lines with a modern interior. The new MG 6 is 1827 mm wide and 1478 mm high, it will be powered by updated versions of the 1.8 litre K series engine now known as N series one if which will be supercharged.
The MG 6 will be built at a new factory in Lingang China from next month will also be produced at the former MG Rover factory at Longbridge near Birmingham. The Chinese built versions could go on sale in the UK before the UK production begins. Development of the MG 6 has been carried out at the technical centre in Longbridge which has been tuning the cars chassis to bring it into line with expectations of the MG marquee in the UK.
Sales and marketing director for MG Motor UK Guy Jones said “this is a milestone day for the iconic MG brand and for the UK automotive industry; we can now look to expand the range of MG products”.
