First official pictures of the Aston Martin Cygnet
Aston Martin has released the first official pictures of the Aston Martin Cygnet.
Aston Martin has released the first official pictures of the Aston Martin ‘Cygnet’. The Cygnet is Aston’s supermini and has been based on the Toyotas iQ city car. Work on the concept is ongoing and will continue into 2010 when it is hoped that it will become a production reality initially available to Aston Martin customers in the UK and Europe. Aston believes they could sell around 4000 Cygnets a year across the world. Once the first customers decide to sell their mini -Aston on, there is likely to be a massive queue for second-hand examples of the tiny car with residual values likely to be bombproof as demand outstrips demand. It may even sell 'used' for more than the original price new. The Aston Martin Cygnet concept represents a creative, environmentally conscious solution, being small, yet with presence and highly fuel efficient, now combined with the prestige of Aston Martin’s luxury brand ownership. Under the bonnet the Cygnet will keep the Toyotas 1litre engine which tackles the environmental issues as the engine returns more than 65mpg and has CO2 emissions of just 99/km. The interior will be finished in the traditional top quality leather, wood and carbon fibre trim that you would get in an Aston. Customers will also be able to customize the Cygnet to their individual taste inside.
