Forecourt Update: New Hyundai i10 Premium SE

New Top Of The Range i10 Trim

What Is it?

The Hyundai i10 Premium SE is the new, top of the range, version of the manufacturer’s city class vehicle. It is elevated above its siblings thanks to a higher equipment specification that makes it more comfortable, more fashionable and more physically attractive.

Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor UK, said: “Since its launch a year ago, we’ve already sold over 25,000 units of New Generation i10 in the UK.”

He added: “The introduction of Premium SE will look to build on this success by providing customers with competitive levels of technology, without the need to compromise on the small car package”.

What Are The Engine Options?

The Premium SE has a 1.2-litre, 87PS, petrol engine. When teamed to 5-speed manual transmission it propels motorists to 62mph in 12.3 seconds, averages 57.6mpg and emits carbon at the rate of 114g/km.

Alternatively, the 4-speed automatic version hits 62mph in 13.8 seconds, returns 45.6mpg and its carbon emission figure is 142g/km.

What Are The Trim Options?

Premium SE is the trim. Enhancements over lesser versions include the: 15” alloy wheels, electric tilt and slide sunroof, rear parking sensors, smart key with engine start button, chrome effect exterior door handles, plus the heated seats and steering wheel.

These complement features available on other trims. Highlights include: remote central locking, climate control, cruise control, electric front and rear windows, powered mirrors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability programme to make corner safer, and a system to stop it rolling backward during hill-starts.

Anything Else I Need To Know?

The New i10 range has won 9 awards including What Car? Best City Car on 2 occasions, and the Scottish Car of the Year title in 2014.

Furthermore, unlike some rivals it has 5 doors rather than 3 to make it easy to live with. Cargo capacity is a class competitive 252-litres rising to 1,046-litres with the rear seats folded flat.

Finally, like all the manufacturer’s vehicles the New i10 Premium SE is backed by a 5 year, unlimited mileage, warranty that can be transferred between owners if it is sold. The purpose of the warranty is to provide peace of mind and minimise depreciation.

How Much Is It?

The New Generation Hyundai i10 Premium SE is available now. The 1.2-litre manual costs £11,995 and the auto £12,650 (on the road).
