Last Day of the Motoring Festival
The final day of the Goodwood Festival of Speed gets underway with plenty still to see and do.
Skoda have a stand dedicated to their cars, including two concepts, the Yeti Xtreme and the Vision C. With their sponsorship of cycling, grab a bike and tackle their cycling summit challenge or design the King of the Mountain jersey.
Jaguar have their stunning F-Type Coupe and Convertible on the stand and you will see the Coupe heading up the hill climb in the capable hands of Bruno Senna. Their new F-Type Project 7, the fastest and most powerful production Jaguar ever is on hand for visitors to get up close with. It gets from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds.
BMW have unleashed the new M4 Coupe and M3 Saloon on their stand alongside the first X4. The i8 is making runs up the hill, so head to the BMW stand to take a seat in the plug-in hybrid sports car. Don’t miss their most powerful production car, the M5 30 Jahre Edition taking on the hill during the day.
There are plenty of concepts on the Renault stand including the DeZir, the cute Twin’Run and the sporty crossover Captur. The new Twingo is also on display for the first time in the UK ahead of its launch in September. With the first season of Formula E approaching, the new electric race car series, the Spark-Renault SRT-01E is also available to look at.
Ford have a huge three-storey stand emblazoned with the famous Mustang logo, with the car making its first UK appearance. The new Focus ST has made its global debut at Goodwood too and visitors can take part in the first-ever “virtual vs real” race on the hill. Don’t forget to slide down the stand in their Play Your Part campaign ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Audi has a very impressive stand and one of the highlights is the new TT. This sits alongside the stunning Allroad Shooting Brake and Sport Quattro Laserlight Concepts. Their new Virtual Cockpit is well worth checking out and road cars including the new S1 and S3 Cabriolet. Watch recent Le Mans race winner Andre Lotterer take on the hill climb in his Audi R-18 e-tron quattro.
Visitors to Volkswagen can take a seat in the most fuel efficient car ever, the XL1. The revised Touareg is also there with the radical GTI Roadster Concept making an appearance, fresh from its debut at the Woerthersee event in Austria. Take it on a virtual ride of the Goodwood hill climb in their gaming pods.Rally fans can check out their Polo World Rally Championship car which won last year’s manufacturer’s title.
All day cars and bikes will be going up the hill, this afternoon will see multiple World Rally Champion, Sebastien Loeb try and break the Goodwood record in his Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak car.
