The Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is now in full swing as the largest motoring garden party gets underway. Every year Lord March opens his land up to motoring mayhem as cars, bikes, planes and anything else with an engine entertain the crowds. There is so much to see and do with plenty of manufacturers showcasing their new cars and concepts.
The Nissan stand features their NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo which is a very futuristic look at how a supercar could look. The electric powered ZEOD RC, fresh from its entry into the famous Le Mans 24 Hour race sits along the all-electric LEAF road car. The IDX NISMO Concept is also wowing the crowds and you can virtually design one in rather an interesting way.
Volvo have their 350bhp turbocharged V60 Polestar roaring up the Goodwood hill climb and with one on their stand you can get up close and personal with the Rebel Blue coloured car, which is now in production. Not to be missed is their 3D city beneath your feet visual and experience the full force of mother nature as it takes on their XC60.
Mercedes-Benz have a mix of road and race cars on their enormous stand which can be found at the inside of the first corner of the Goodwood hill climb. Here you can get an alternative view of the Silverstone circuit, the new C-Class is also on show and don’t forget to see the Central Feature in front of Goodwood House, which features a 1934 Mercedes-Benz W 25 Silver Arrow and Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 W04 .
Toyota have their Le Mans race car from last year, the TS030 on their stand, along with their GT86 road car which you can learn to drift in. The new Aygo city car shows the fun side from Toyota and you can have an Aygo selfie in their Go Fun Yourself campaign.
Citroen have a new model this year with the C4 Cactus and it makes its UK premiere along with the C1 city car. The Cactus features unique Airbump technology and there is a themed activity on their stand which involves jumping. Multiple World Rally Champion and current World Touring Car Championship driver, Sebastian Loeb, will be signing autographs on the stand over the weekend.
Infiniti have their cool coloured 568bhp Q50 Eau Rouge Concept at the Festival of Speed, a UK premiere of the race inspired saloon which will also take on the hill climb. There is also an Infiniti Red Bull Racing show car displayed on the back wall, so be sure to check out that, their Eau Rouge bar and also head to the top of their stand for amazing views of the event.
