Huge Discounts with Mazda’s new Scrappage Scheme
See how much you could save against these top models...
Have you got a vehicle registered on or before the 31st of December 2011? If so then Mazda has got some great news for you. They're offering huge discounts on certain models in their latest scrappage scheme, to clean up the most polluting vehicles on our roads. Today we’re having a quick run through which models are included and if any of them take your fancy, get in touch with your local Mazda dealer as soon as possible because this scheme ends on the 31st of March 2020!
So let’s have a look at what's included...
2020 Mazda 2 - £3,000 scrappage saving
The Mazda2 only from £15,795, so they’re giving you almost 20% off the car just for your old part exchange! That’s a generous start to any negotiation. The Mazda2 is Mazdas city car which is marketed as ‘small in size, big on fun’ and it’s hard to disagree. Of all the small city cars, the Mazda 2 is certainly one of the best to drive thanks to its sharp steering and nimble dimensions. It’s also a really good looking thing with sleek lines and a premium grille. Although it’s a small car, it’s rather practical for its size. The front two seats are more than enough for adults and children should have no issues with long journeys in the rear seats. The boot is a fairly sizable 280 litres too, which can expand to 950 litres with the rear seats folded down.
All-New Mazda 3 - £3,500 scrappage saving
It is rare to find any significant discount on a vehicle that has only just launched, so to get a massive £3,500 off the new Mazda3 is exceptional. The Mazda3 starts from £21,795 and its core principle is simplicity. Step inside the cabin and you won't find an obnoxious, overdesigned centre console, you’ll find a slim and sophisticated screen mounted to the dashboard and a similarly slim panel of physical buttons to control the hazard lights and heated seats. Engine choices are simplified too. You can have either a 2.0-litre petrol or a 1.8-litre diesel which can return 45mpg and 56 mpg respectively. There, nice and easy, take your pick.
Mazda 6 - £3,000 scrappage saving
The Mazda 6 saloon is a mature car for buyers with a mature taste, but that doesn’t mean it’s boring. This model has been on sale since 2016 but it has had a few facelifts and it keeps getting better every time. The leather-clad interior is plush and cosseting while still roomy and Mazda have stepped up a notch. There are no two ways about it nowadays, this certainly is a luxury saloon thanks to the high-grade material selection and excellent levels of refinement. The entry-level spec is incredibly generous too, with front and rear sensors, blind spot assist, hill start assist, keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers and much more all included as standard. Not bad at all for a car that starts from £24,395 before the £3,000 scrappage discount...
All-new Mazda CX-30 - £3,000 scrappage saving
The CX-30 is another Mazda which has barely been on sale for long at all but Mazda are happy to knock a whole £3,000 off the starting price for your old car. The CX-30 is marketed as ‘everything you need for everywhere you want to go’ and they’ve hit the nail on the head there. It’s a vehicle which is just as comfortable in the city centre as it is in the countryside. It is as competent in the supermarket car park as it is on a long motorway journey. It is wonderfully safe too, scoring 5 stars in the Euro NCAP safety tests with an incredible 99% score in the adult occupant protection category. The CX-30 is on sale now and prices start from just £22,895.
Mazda CX-5 £4,000 scrappage saving
The biggest saving of the lot comes on the CX-5 from Mazda. This is Mazdas medium-sized crossover which pits itself against the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan and BMW X1, both which the CX-5 matches in terms of luxury, but surpasses in terms of value. The CX-5 is wonderfully refined with quiet engines and a particularly well-insulated cabin which blocks out any intrusive road noise. A car this size is always going to be practical. All 5 seats are suitable for adults and the boot is more than big enough with a whole 500 litres to play with when the rear seats are in place and 1,620 litres with them folded down. More than enough for most tasks, whether it is outdoor activities or a trip to IKEA. The CX-5 is on sale from £26,400 for the SE-L Nav+ model but you can knock a whole £4,000 off that with their scrappage discount.
2020 Mazda MX-5 - £3,000 scrappage saving
And last but not least is the much-adored MX-5 - a car that doesn’t need an introduction here because, after 30 years, we know what the MX-5 is all about… fun. While times have changed from the raw experience of the mark 1 MX-5, the enjoyment you can get behind the wheel of the new model is unparalleled for anything in this price bracket. The MX-5 is on sale from £23,795 but you can knock £3,000 off that price when trading in a qualifying vehicle on the scrappage scheme. This is certainly one you’ll want to take for a test drive especially if you’ve never experienced driving an MX-5 before. Who needs rear seats when you can have so much enjoyment while driving around?
